Scratchbuilding in Plastic

LTM 1500

The model is a 1/24 scale replica of a 500 ton mobile crane manufactured by Liebherr of Germany and measures 36 inches in lenght.

Bofors 40mm Naval Gun

1/20th scale model of the Bofors Model 60 as is currently installed on Canadian Navy Kingston Class minesweepers.

Smallwood

The actual ship is a car/passenger ferry that sails between Nova Scotia and the island of Newfoundland in Canada. It measures approximately 587 feet in length and carries 370 cars and 1200 passengers It has been in service since 1990.

USS Glennon

The Glennon was my first scratchbuilt all plastic project. The model was built in 1/96 scale and measured approx 48 inches in length. It was based on plans by Alan B Chesley of the Glennon.

HMCS Halifax

This is 1/100th scale metric of Canadas latest frigate. There is a ship named for each capital of each province. Again this model is entirely constructed from polystyrene plastic card. It measures about 52 inches in length.

HMCS Moncton

The HMCS Moncton belongs to the Kingston class of vessels called Maritime Coastal Defence Vessels and measures 55 meters in length.

Wheel Loader

The CAT980G is built to a scale of 1/24 so that it could be displayed with 1/24 or 1/25 scale cars and trucks.

Log Hauler

The SISU Log hauler is built to a scale of 1/24th and measures approximately 20 inches in length.

Attachments

The models of heavy equipment attachments are built to a scale of 1/10 using drawings for the actual attachments.

Kenworth T800

The 1/24 scale model was constructed utilizing home drawn plans compilied by taking measurements and photographs of the actual truck.

Komatsu Pc800

As with my other heavy equipment models the PC800 is also in 1/24 scale.
